Position Title

Procurement & Inventory Specialist

This role is responsible for the efficient procurement of goods and materials both domestically and internationally. Overseeing the management of inventory to ensure optimal levels and reduced wastage shortages.

  • Assist with ordering and maintaining stock levels for laboratory consumables including chemicals.
  • Responsible for checking and maintaining consumable stock levels to meet the needs of both the research and development and analytical laboratories at Novalith.
  • Order and source laboratory chemicals and gasses from domestic or foreign chemical suppliers.
  • Maintain stock levels and use by dates in the laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
  • Lead negotiation of terms and conditions for assigned packages, and support other team members in their negotiations as required,
  • Prepare Commercial Bid Summary and Recommendation for Award.
  • Identify and dispose of out of date chemicals in line with laboratory procedures.
  • Assist with organising chemical waste contractors.
  • Identify ways of saving without compromising quality.
  • Assist in purchasing office supplies and merchandise.
  • Assist with organising and mailing packages to third parties.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Google docs and computer literate.
  • Experience with shipping and deliveries. Preferably international shipping, customs, and relevant limitations.
  • Solid organisational and planning skills, including the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Good problem-solving and reasoning skills.
  • Technical aptitude.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Great follow-up and administrative skills.
